As a Church we are committed to creative, Spirit filled, God centered worship. However our culture is changing and we have experimented with new forms of worship which are inclusive whilst remaining Bible based.

Our family services are aimed at including all ages in a common act of worship that binds us together as a family with God as our Father. We believe we are not a group of families but a family group and our worship with drama, video and interactive craft reflects this belief.

If you are using Internet Explorer 5.5 or above the links below should open in a window and play for you. If you right click and select 'save target as' you can download the video files.

Holiday Clubs
After trying to use Holiday Club material for a variety of sources we decided that to get some suitable for our setting we would haev to write our own. So far we have developed three (Joseph - King Of Dreams, Moses - Price of Egypt and The Miracle Maker). They are available for other Churches. Please e-mail us for more details.

Narrative Teaching
These zip file contains the service order and documents that were used in all age services at Buttershaw Baptist. Not all of any one service will be usable by everybody, but hopefully some of it will be useful to some of us !

Jephthah - Judges 11
Samson (Part 1) - Judges 14-15
Samson (Part 2) - Judges 16

Video Files
Our experiential services use multi-media to help us reflect on our experiences and praise God. The services have been used especially at Christmas and Easter.

This page will soon include more service orders and resources for download and use by other Churches. We do not expect any payment for these resources. However if you, or your Church, would consider our Buy Back Beacon 4 Buttershaw (see Latest News) campaign we would be most grateful.

The Chocolate Christmas Story
A certain minister of this Church is famous for his love of chocolate ( well, OK, his love of food generally !). We even tell the Christmas story mentioning as many chocolate bars as possible. A sweet ending to a carol service, but with a point ! Click on the link to download the story in Microsoft Word format.

The Three Wise Men
What is they'd been women instead ? This humorous Microsoft Powerpoint presentation answers that question.

The Three Wise (Wo)men

It's LIFE Jim, but not as we know it !
Click here for a set of instructions and photos for how to fold and tear a piece of A4 so that the pieces spell either 'LIFE' or 'HELL', plus a cross (you can use a bigger sheet as long as it's dimensions are a multiple of A4's !). We have used it for either Easter or Christmas talks.

When My Heart Runs Dry
Matt Redman writes some amazing music. We did a powerpoint presentation to put images to 'When My Heart Runs Dry' from 'Where Angels Fear To Tread'. If you put a copy of the track in a directory called c:\spare\04 When My Heart Runs Dry.mp3 on your pc then the powerpoint will start the music. You will need to advance the images by pressing the space bar at the start of each line of the song. There are two versions, one with words and one without;

Easter Week Prayer and Reading Diary
This prayer guide is in Microsoft Publisher format. It prints as a two sided A4 sheet, with three guides per sheet. If you print off one side and then turn your paper over and put it back in the printer you should get it double-sided. Please feel free to use it and edit it, but some mention of Buttershaw would be appreciated !

Seven Promises for Seven Days
This card is in Microsoft Publisher format. It prints three cards on sheet of A4 sheet. It was designed to go along side a series on faith, which needs us to know the promises of God. The seven promises, one to be learnt for each day, was a good start. We printed them off and laminated them to use as bookmarks or stick in a prominent place. Please feel free to use it and edit it, but some mention of Buttershaw would be appreciated !
