Funding

Where does the money come from ?
The Family Centre was started as is a joint project between the Church and Spurgeon's Childcare. The Family Centre has been an independent limited charitable company since April 2004.

Our manager spends a large portion of their time pursuing funding sources for the Family Centre. The majority of the monies needed are raised through grants from a wide selection of bodies, including Tudor Trust, BBC Children in Need, Neighbourhood Renewal and Health Action Zone. Some fund raising activities are also held through out the year, such as a Christmas Bazaar and a sponsored bounce.

And where does it go ?
The large majority of the money raised is spent on staff and running activities. The budget is set by the Family Centre Management Committee.

The overview accounts for the last financial year (ended March 2006) can be downloaded here in Microsoft Excel format.
